Helen C. (Costigan) Daley, 65, of Easton, formerly of Mission Hill, passed away surrounded by her loving family, at home, on Friday October 5, 2012. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Paul J. Daley, to whom she was wed for the past 38 years.
Born in Boston, MA on April 7, 1947, she was a dear daughter of the late John F. and Mary Patricia (Sweeney) Costigan.
Helen grew up in the Mission Hill section of Boston. She was educated in Mission Hill Schools and was a 1964 graduate of Mission High. She furthered her studies and was a graduate of the Boston Business School.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Daley had been employed by Verizon at both the companies Boston and Taunton locations. She retired after 20 years as an administrative assistant. She had formerly worked for the Department of Public Welfare and at New England Life, both in Boston.
An Easton resident for the past 10 years, Helen was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield and while residing in Mission Hill was a longtime parishioner of the Mission Church.
Helen’s family was the love of her life. She enjoyed walking the beaches of Marshfield, listening to music and could always be found on the dance floor.
In addition to her beloved husband and best friend Paul, she is survived by her devoted daughters, Jessica M. Petrillo and her husband Tony of Easton and Paula J. Daley of Easton. The dear sister of Mary Pat Kaszanek and her husband James of Rockland, Carol M. Dodge of Pembroke and her late husband Albert Dodge, and Jean Hunt and her husband James of Dorchester, she is also survived by her 4 cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Natalie, Adriana and Olivia, and was the sister-in-law of Bernadette Scott and her husband Charles of Virginia, James Daley and his wife Ellen of West Roxbury, Margaret Heraty of Canton and was the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday October 10th at a time to be announced in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 9th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Helen’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Greater Walk for Autism, C/O Team Speak up for Colin, Walk Donations Department, 5455 Wilshire Blvd, #2250, Los Angeles, CA 90036.
